At Hollywood Primary School, a key element of our wellbeing provision is our therapy dog Daisy. She is a nine-year-old Labradoodle who has been part of the school community since she was a puppy. She has received specialist training to work effectively with children and is registered with the charity Canine Concern, which oversees visiting and therapeutic dogs.
As part of her role, Daisy welcomes pupils at the school gates each morning and provides emotional support to pupils who may be experiencing difficulties. She also contributes to our behaviour and attendance strategies by acting as a positive reward, in addition to supporting the overall wellbeing of our school community.
