Art is important because it builds creativity and gives students a way to practice self-expression, which helps their well-being. By learning about different cultures and art styles, our curriculum helps students understand and respect people by celebrating differences. The practical skills and critical thinking learned in art are necessary to prepare students for life beyond their time with us at Hollywood.

• Study of a  culturally diverse selection of artists, craftspeople and designers from the UK and around the world.

• Children will have opportunities to develop their skills in drawing, painting, printing and sculpture work.

• Time to explore different mediums, tools, techniques and resources.

• A curriculum that develops confidence in understanding and use of tone, texture, shape, colour, line, pattern, form and space.

• Carefully planned sequence of learning, with lessons, skills and knowledge interwoven between year groups.
